Top Box Honda
My 01 Honda accord runs bad after stereo install. why?
Just installed a complete stereo system in my 01 Honda Accord. All factory components removed and new components installed with the addition of subwoofers. When I put everything back together I forgot to hook up one connector. It goes on top of my throttle body and had to be removed to take out the rubber hose that goes from the air filter box to the throttle body. I started my car and it run terrible, like on three cylinders. At that point I noticed the connector unplugged and hooked it back up but my car still runs bad. I disconnected the battery for about two or three minutes but it didn't seem to do any good. Of course my check engine light is now on. Before I take it to a mechanic I hope someone out there can help me. Thank You.
Did you install an aftermarket intake at the same time? I'm not sure why you were messing with the intake box. If any of those hoses or intake parts are not fitting back correctly and leaking air, it will throw off the sensors for the air/fuel mixture, and it will run crappy. I would take the intake system back apart and carefully reassemble making sure each part is fitting and sealing perfectly. I would disconnect the ground from the battery before you start this, and reconnect when you are finished. It may need more than 2 to 3 minutes to reset the computer.
