Did I get cheated?

I know it's too late, but I'm wondering if you should go to Speedy Auto Service again. 2002 Honda Civic Dx-g (4 doors). I took it for the reason that was making a scraping sound. Was called and told me to replace the pads rest against two, front rotors, front brake calipers 2 links and stabilizer on the back and an oil change. Parts and labor amounted to $ 1,038 Canadian (about $ 930 USD). Thanks for the answers ... I'll give a little more information: I am not the original owner of the car, but I bought after the original owner leased it for 1 year. 140,000 kms on it. I live in Windsor Ontario. Oh, and do not get me wrong, I know it's my fault if I started to authorize it. I'm wondering if I did get ripped off because then I will never go there again (time to find a reliable mechanic)

Sounds like your brake pads were worn out and scratched that slots on the rotors. Do not always go to those places, which will replace all the parties, even if the old parts are still functional, and then charge you a lot of labor. I call this highway robbery. "I tend to replace the brake pads and rotors I have become, which is the best way to ease the rotors at low cost. If you can not the work yourself, find a friend who can, its an easy job. I'm sorry about your loss. My mother did the same without contacting me first, and the store really took advantage of it.
