Good car? 40mpg! $ 1000!?
This guy is selling a 91 honda crx hf http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/cto/8180 ... Has 130k miles on it, a lot of good parts. But it has a blown head gasket and needs a new radiator. More information on the link http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/cto/818073420.html They do not want to drive my mugen and add miles to much so Im thinking about it, is 40 miles per gallon!
I had my CRX for over 170K, no problems. Probably the heat of the issues that need a radiator contributed to the development gasket. Assuming you are doing the head gasket to get the car cheap I think it's feasible, but I worry more about the radiator. It should be at least 200-250 for a new replacement. That and the cost of any work mill is pushing The CRX costs significantly. If you go for it, replace the water pump when doing the head gasket. It's in the back of the engine, very difficult to achieve and 130K, the engine can use the refresh. The CRX is capable of the range of 40 miles per gallon. My biggest problem was rotting in the car lower. back seat conductor. This was the main problem.
