Car similar to PT Cruiser?

I have gotten into a 2004 PT Cruiser Touring Edition (Turbo) which had good leg room in the front and back. But gas (MPG) was not that good, its about 19/26. I am looking for a car that is similar to the PT Cruiser's leg room and cargo space? I would like better gas mileage (MPG)? I like how the seats fold down and u have enough room to put boxes in which is nice. If you know of any other wagon/hatchback type cars that are good please let me know.
I know of the HHR and the Honda Fit.
Are there any other ones?
Is there enough room for a 6' person to sit in the front and a 6' person sit in the back at the same time?

Ford Escape.It gets considerably better mileage especially the hybrid.But if you don't want it then you should also consider the Honda CR-V.You can also consider a minivan.
