Honda Service Schedules
What is the reccommended oil change interval for Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic 5w-20 vs the 0w-20 product?
I emailed Mobil for the exact specs and was not given the number or time frame (I was given a general "follow regular maintenance schedule" response). From what I hear, these oils offer greater protection and last longer than the traditional service rule of 3000 miles / 3 months. My car's owner's manuel states that Oil Changes should be every 7500 miles / 1 year (recommended Honda 5w-20 oil). I want to run the Fully Syn Extended Fuel Economy 0w-20 oil but am not entirely sure which maintenance schedule to follow. Should I follow the 3k/3month general rule, the car manufacturer's reccommended 7500mile/1 year interval(with Honda Oil Products), or the supposed 5-6k(fully syn 5w-20) or 15k(fully syn 0w-20) promised by Mobil 1 oil (with a high performance oil filter for the longer duration between changes).
id change it every 10 thousand at least with fully synthetic oil in it,that's enough time for any oil to be changed, i use Mobil one in everything i own and i only change mine every year or 8 thousand which ever comes first but i own older vehicles also,on some of the newer vehicles they do recommend running it at a higher mileage but i wouldn't do it id change it at least every ten thousand ,good luck.
