Stiff clutch on a 2000 Honda 400EX?

I recently bought a KTM 520EXC and I keep my 400EX for my wife to ride. However, the clutch on my 400ex is too rigid for my wife. My brother has a 400ex 2001, and yours is much lighter. She was able to mount their own good. Could you help a new clutch cable, or I have to get new parts in the clutch itself? What a Magura hydraulic clutch kit? I really do not want to sell the quad for something different, because I still enjoy of riding it too.

I agree that is probably just a dirty cable can be replaced, or better yet, just lubricant. You do not have to remove it from the bike, only loosen the lever end and put a cloth down on the other - use WD40 and a wire Luber, or you can try and shoot down the box with tape tube nozzle, plastic cord and fire away - safety glasses with wear, it will go everywhere. Do you know if anyone had any mods the yard before you bought it? If so, there could be stronger clutch springs installed. If so, and if the engine is in action, you could easily replace the heavier springs and some new stock Honda springs. The EZ can pull the levers work, but are difficult to adjust properly - Always seems to have some drag or not to allow what must be disconnected completely. The aftermarket hydraulic levers can help, but the design is not as good as the hydraulic adjustment of the population as you have on the KTM - when it is a stock bike with a hydraulic clutch, clutch hydraulic arm complete. The system aftermarket cable is basically a hydraulic actuator with mechanical arm remains the standard. This works well in small motorcycles, but some issues can sometimes slip in larger engines.
