metal shavings in the fluid clutch?
found some metal shavings in my 84 honda shadow (vt750) fluid clutch. Should I worry? What should I do? ((Please do not tell me to get a "real" / bike new I'm working on it .. can ...))
Yes this is normal. I would recommend its removal and verification of the clutch basket just to be safe. For your sake I hope there is something wrong with the basket. If anything should see some small dents in the basket where the flanges on the clutch plates hit. If there is more wear than this, you should take it to a motorcycle shop that have them check. If there is a lot of wear on the plates will be replaced. Make sure you are using the proper oil. Do not let this scare you without embargo. It is a Honda replacement parts are easy to find. That is if there is really nothing wrong. You probably have really nothing to worry about.
