How to turn off warning sign (engine picture) on a Honda Civic 2002?

Hi, i currently own a Honda Civic year 2002. One of the warning light in my car all of a sudden is turned on. It's the one that cautions you and tells you to check the car system. It's like a picture of an engine. Well i checked my car and nothing seems wrong. So my question is how do i turn the light off?

Go to your local auto parts store and buy/borrow an Onboard Diagnostic (OBD 2) scanner. Plug the cable to the port underneath your dashboard and start your engine. Write down the error code, look up the description for the code and repost your question with the error code.

When this warning sign comes on (Check Engine Light), it's telling you that your car has detected a problem or malfunction with your car or it's sensors that help your car run efficiently. If you ignore this light by simply turning it off can make matters worst as your car will eventually run sluggish, rough, or no longer start at all.

Also, if you attempt to disconnect your battery or use the OBD 2 scanner to clear the check engine light, it will return when you computer detects the problem unresolved.
