Placing new air filter for a '72 Honda CL350?

I have a little '72 Honda CL350 makes a song. Air filters is necessary again. OEM filters are difficult to find and are out of my price range, so I got a pair of clamp-on filters like these http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RC-0412 NOS. However, no NOS filters have the same shape as the original filters and do not fit the air filter boxes (they are too long). The way the air filter box with filter OEM fit is that the back of the filter forms the back of the box, which will not happen with the filters of NOS. How have other owners of vintage coders resolved this problem? Thanks for the help. Edit: These are the correct air filter for this bike NOS. original filters for this bike are no longer in production. Prefer not to make holes in cases of filter because I do not want excess water and pollutants to reach the filters - so the picture is there.

As popular as this bike was there have to be a vintage piece suit that has a replacement filter that does not fall within brands.
