Honda Awd Wagon
How much does it cost to convert to FWD RWD? Honestly? To my Honda del Sol?
I know you can do, I know I can take a unit total drive train of an old wagon and make my Honda Del Sol AWD. How much does a mechanic have to be RWD? Or If I had to do everything I need? Can I still use the same tranny or need a new one? I was planning on doing an exchange of GSR in my car and make it RWD, but I can not find someone as crazy like to help!
It will cost too much, and would require cutting to the vehicle frame. And you end up with garbage. The reason is simple: a car front wheel drive has no room for the transaxle take power from the engine front to the rear wheels. You will have to create that space. Nor is there space in the back to the rear differential, or rear axle (to actually send power to the wheels). To make room would require cutting the bottom frame, which means that are weakening the overall structure, which requires welding in support of all the car keys. It ends with Frankenstein, basically, if it happens at all. If you want a Honda 2-seater sports car that is RWD, sell the Sun (which is actually a Civic) and buy a S2000 instead.
