1999 Honda CRV brake light stays on even when the brake isn't engaged. How can I fix this myself?

Sorry....it's the PARKING brake light.

I have the same problem with my Honda and i took it in to a mechanic. My brake lights comes and goes. When I took it in he took off my tires, checked the brakes and fluid levels, all were good. I was told that there is a ball inside my brake fluid container that gets stuck. I had just had my brakes replaced and I also took it to get a second opinion and got the same results. Your best bet is to take it and have it checked out, if for nothing else safety and peace of mind.
