The Anaheim Ducks were originally called the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. This is a men's professional team ice hockey based in Anaheim, California. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Within a short span, have shown fantastic results and are the current Stanley Cup Champions, after defeating the Ottawa Senators in five games post-season. Ducks always have played their home games at the Honda Center, formerly called Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.

The Walt Disney Company Anaheim Ducks formed in 1991. The original name was given after the movie, The Mighty Ducks. This film shows a group of teens win a hockey game successfully.
Disney sold the franchise Henry and Susan Samueli in 2005, which changed the name to Anaheim Ducks. In his game 14 years, the ducks have made the playoffs five times, won two conference championships West (2003 and 2007) and one Stanley Cup, 2007.

The logo is a webbed foot forming a "D" followed by other letters of the word "Ducks" in capitals. The text is in orange and gold with black accents, giving the appearance of three dimensions. The entire logo is surrounded by white. The old logo, before that the name changed, was an old style goalie mask, giving the appearance of a duckbill.

Jerseys

The old jerseys used jade, aubergine (eggplant), white and gray as primary colors. After the team was purchased by The Walt Disney Company, Brian Burke sought inspiration from the Military Academy U.S. and gave the gold jersey diagonal, white, black and orange stripes on the arms and waist, with the word "Ducks" on the front. The orange honors Orange County, home to Anaheim.

The 2007-08 jerseys, like all NHL teams, changed over to the new Reebok Edge jerseys. Only one small change with a small NHL crest below the neck. The official mascot is an anthropomorphic ducks duck by the name of Wild Wing. He wears a T-ducks with 93 on the back, the year the ducks became the team in the NHL.

In July, the Ducks traded young sniper lupul, defenseman Ladislav Smid, in 2007 first-round draft pick and a second round selection in 2008, to Edmonton in exchange for the famous defender Chris Pronger. The team completed last season with 43 wins, 27 losses and 12 overtime losses. They became the third in their division. In the playoffs, earned more than flames in conference quarterfinals and more of the avalanche in the semifinals, but were defeated by the Oilers in the final. They had a fantastic year in 2006-07, beating the Ottawa Senators to take home the Stanley Cup. The team has new faces Todd Bertuzzi, Mathieu Schneider, Jean Sebastien Giguere and Travis Moen.
